Walk With Your Best Friend Event

Here is some info on the Peace Week event - Walk With Your Best Friend! On October 5th at 9:30am.

DID YOU KNOW? 85.4% of women and 63% of children entering domestic violence shelters reported incidents of pet abuse (aspca.org).
Every year more and more families and their furry best friends are participating in events across the county to raise awareness about the serious effects of domestic violence in their communities. You are invited to join in this effort on Saturday, October 5th! Residents from Medina and surrounding communities will strut their mutt in a one-mile fun walk with their pooch.
Participants will be led by their quadruped pals through downtown Medina during the Sixth Annual “Walk With Your Best Friend Against Abuse” event. Men, women, and children are invited to come out with their best friends and join us in bringing awareness to the link between pet abuse and domestic violence.

Registration is scheduled to begin at 9:30AM at the Medina Uptown Park Square & Gazebo. Participants may choose to walk as an individual or as a team. We encourage participants to form teams to optimize raising money and awareness to support the Battered Women’s Shelter of Medina County. There is a $15.00 registration fee for individuals, which may be paid online or the day of the event. Both teams and individuals may register online by visitingwww.walkwithyourbestfriend.com. This link is a quick and easy way to help spread the word about the event and raise money for your team directly online!
Walk activities will include a doggy demonstration by Sit Means Sit, Survivor Speaker, and a Dog Costume Contest. This fun-filled family event will include activities for children, information tables, raffles, refreshments, and more!
